First Steps is a day care center in Middletown NY. The day care center provides a loving, learning, nurturing, clean and safe environment for your child to explore his or her full potential throughout the program. First Steps is licensed by New York State to care for children. We provide care for children whose ages range from 6 weeks to 12 years old. We believe in a low child to teacher ratio that’s why the staff consists of a teacher, an alternate provider and a substitute. All members of First Steps are carefully screened and approved to work under the program by the Office of Children and Family Services of Orange County NY. We all have over 10 years of experience teaching and caring for children with a college degree in Early Childhood Education.

First Steps is the right place to have your children because they will be involved in a full  day of early education starting as young as 6 weeks with a balane of child initiated activities. Every child enrolled will be apart of a developmentally age appropriate curriculum. The curriculum is based on incorporating Infant, Toddler and Preschool learning activities. The environment of the children is a special feature so children can assimilate appropriate ways to learn/play with  childrentheir age. First Steps environment is a great self-esteem booster for children to be able to look out for each other, and our child care facility is an ideal place to foster this behavior in a learning environment. We have fun while we learn subjects such as Mathematics, Science, English, History, Spanish, life lessons, cooking, imagination, art and more. School-age children will receive help with homework and tutoring after school or holidays on a as needed basis.
